Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 August 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Amperage, you agree to these terms. Amperage is based in Sydney, NSW, Australia.
2. What Amperage does
Amperage is a web-based solar analysis platform for Australian businesses. It provides electricity bill extraction, consumption profiling, system sizing, ROI analysis, battery modelling, and Australian incentive calculations (STCs, LGCs, VEECs). Solar Insight is our free lead-generation tool that gives businesses an instant solar estimate without an account.
3. Accounts
- Provide accurate information at registration.
- Keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One person per account — accounts cannot be shared.
- You must be 18 years or older.
4. Pricing & payment
- Free Estimate: Always free. Instant solar sizing based on business type and spend.
- Full Analysis (free with installer review): The complete analysis — AI bill extraction, consumption profiling, sizing, battery assessment and report — is free when you give express consent for one accredited local installer to review it and contact you by the method you choose (see our Privacy Policy, section 6).
- Bill Analysis PDF: $15 (incl. GST). One-time payment for your detailed bill analysis as a downloadable PDF, with no installer contact. This is charged during beta as well.
- Solar-company subscription plans: Billed per company. Subscription pricing is as displayed on the pricing page and at signup; prices are in AUD, exclude GST, and may change with notice (see section 13). Annual billing is available at a discount. Subscription plans are free during beta.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. All prices are in AUD. The Bill Analysis PDF price includes GST; subscription prices exclude GST.
- Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase if the report has not been generated.
5. Acceptable use
- Use Amperage for lawful purposes related to solar energy analysis.
- Do not scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or API.
- Do not upload content that infringes third-party rights or contains malware.
- Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits.
6. Your data
- You own everything you upload: bills, consumption files, and project configurations.
- You grant Amperage a limited licence to process your data solely to provide the service.
- Your uploaded bills and consumption files are never shared or sold. We share your contact details with a solar installer only if you give express consent — one accredited local installer, by the contact method you choose. See our Privacy Policy (section 6) for exactly what is shared and how to withdraw consent.
7. Communications
- Service emails are part of your account: email verification, password resets, project and team notifications, billing receipts, and notices about changes to these terms, our Privacy Policy, pricing, or the service. You cannot opt out of these while your account is open — close the account to stop them.
- Marketing emails (product updates, tips, announcements) are opt-in. Choose at signup, or change it any time under Settings → Email Notifications. Every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribes within 5 business days as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
- We do not sell or rent your email address, and we do not send you marketing on behalf of anyone else.
8. AI-powered features
- Bill extraction uses Anthropic Claude to process uploaded PDF images. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training.
- AI-extracted data (tariffs, charges, usage figures) are suggestions. Review them before using in proposals or client-facing documents.
- Amperage is not liable for errors in AI-extracted data. The extraction pipeline includes automated validation, but accuracy depends on bill quality and format.
9. Estimates are not guarantees
Solar modelling outputs (system sizing, savings projections, payback periods, and incentive calculations) are estimates based on:
- The consumption and tariff data you provide.
- Publicly available TMY weather data for your region.
- Current incentive scheme rules (STCs, LGCs, VEECs) which may change.
Actual performance depends on installation specifics: roof orientation, shading, inverter configuration, and network connection. Obtain a formal quote from a CEC-accredited installer before committing to a purchase.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law:
- Amperage's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including lost profits, lost data, or decisions made based on our estimates.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Termination
- You can delete your account at any time from account settings or by emailing hello@amperage.app.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable.
- On deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of NSW.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
